Attendees of this year’s PRI Trade Show will have more opportunities than ever to pick up valuable tips and takeaways during an expanded seminar lineup covering a wide range of topics.
Five PRI 2019 Education Seminars Highlight Opportunities In Racing

Attendees of this year’s Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show, set for December 12–14 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, will have more opportunities than ever to pick up valuable tips and takeaways during an expanded seminar lineup covering a wide range of topics.

Among the bolstered lineup are five seminars highlighting different opportunities in the racing industry, including:

Sponsorship Proposals – Thursday, Dec. 12 from 2:30-3:30 p.m.: Powered by SEMA’s Motorsports Council, this seminar is led by CHARGE President and Founder Ken Unger and CHARGE Vice President of Marketing and Client Services Chris Myer. In this presentation, the industry experts will share practical tips to help buyers and sellers prepare for sponsorship success, including covering common mistakes and finding strong brands.
  
Opportunities For Women In Motorsports – Friday, Dec. 13 from 8-9 a.m.: Powered by SEMA’s Motorsports Council, this all-female panel of industry professionals is led by Jeanette DesJardins of Car Chix and Crank It Media. Racing standouts Natalie Decker, Lea Ochs, Bridget Burgess, and Sarah Burgess will discuss the challenges, triumphs, lessons learned on the track. Attendees will also better understand how to market to, engage with and raise awareness among young women in the sport.
 
Sponsorship Marketing – Friday, Dec. 13 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.: This presentation is led by the best-selling author Alex Striler, who wrote “Motorsports Marketing and Sponsorships: How To Raise Money To Race And Give Sponsors What They Really Want.” The wide-ranging panel discussion with leading motorsports figures will focus on the keys to successful sponsorship marketing for racers, tracks, businesses, events, and more.
 
Motorsports Career Paths – Saturday, Dec. 14 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.: This panel discussion will cover the various career paths for aspiring motorsports professionals, from wrenching to reporting and all points in between. Panelists include SEMA’s Zane Clark, Dodge/Mopar Brand Consultant David Hakim, NHRA’s Alan Reinhart, Motor Trend Group’s John Viscardo, Performance Instruction & Training’s Trent Schanen, and Rollie Helmling of the Indiana Economic Development Corp.
 
Race Team Building: Volunteer To Win – Saturday, Dec. 14 from 1-2 p.m.: Panelists, including Karen Thomas of Thomas Motorsports, will discuss building an organization from the ground up and their experience with volunteer opportunities. Key takeaways include: having a plan/creating a flow chart for building a successful team, how to successfully reach out to sponsors, and finding a niche—social media, support, and sustainability.
 

The 2019 PRI Trade Show will feature over 1,100 companies exhibiting in more than 3,300 booths and showcasing the latest products, services, machinery, simulation, and testing technologies, and trailers for the racing industry in a single location. Now in its 32nd year, PRI encompasses all forms of racing and attracts attendees from all 50 states and all over the world, including professional race teams, retail shops, warehouse distributors, engine builders, fabricators, dealers, installers, jobbers and media.

Known as Race Industry Week, the days leading up to and including the Show will offer a range of motorsports-related activities in and around the Indiana Convention Center beginning on Monday, December 9. Numerous conferences and seminars, among them the Race Track Business Conference and International Council of Motorsport Sciences’ Annual Congress, offer unlimited business opportunities and provide invaluable insight on the latest technologies and how to apply them throughout the racing world.
